Seagate launched the Momentus XT drive bisexual generation 2

Seagate has officially announced version bisexual drive (HDD and SSD drive hybrid) second-generation Momentus XT offers storage capacities up to 740 GB.

This drive consists of a conventional HDD 750 GB running at 7200 rpm speed (greater than 50% over the previous version) and 8 GB NAND flash (double the previous version). Notably, the FAST technology Flash Factor Management, FAST Adaptive Memory Factor Boot and makes data access and application components operating systems boot faster. The role of the SSD drive is to help speed up the boot into the operating system, while all of the data storage will be entitled to regular HDDs.

Hard hermaphroditism, also known as hybrid drive, which is considered the combination of traditional hard disk drive (HDD) equipped with rotating power of the flash memory used in SSDs. The purpose of this association is to give users a low-cost drives, high-capacity plus speed of flash memory.

According to Seagate, the drive's future is likely to improve faster than its predecessor to 70% and 3 times compared with conventional HDD drive.

Experimental results show that this hybrid-speed drive to boot from a cold boot mode only a few seconds slower than SSD, while the hybrid drive is faster than HDD some cause common.

The advantage of this hybrid drive is quite attractive price, only 245 USD, equivalent to the cost of an SSD with a capacity of 120 GB. Meanwhile, a 750 GB HDD now also cost about 150 USD but does not give effect to work quickly and efficiently as SSD.
