In the latest press releases, IPCom said the company has moved a document to the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer HTC, announced that it will ask the German authorities imposed a ban on consumption of all 3G devices HTC which is sold in European countries, to implement a decision taken in 2009 by a court in Mannheim, Germany, which was then recognized HTC has violated a patent owned by IPCom.
The problem is that HTC did not conduct appeal proceedings after the decision was made. And now, IPCom are looking for ways to make the official ban of Mannheim 2 years ago to be executed in time "as soon as possible", ie to all devices of HTC 3G smartphone and tablet to "turn missing from the shelves before Christmas and the holiday shopping season last year. "
The risk of being banned from consumption in Germany, one of the largest smartphone market in Europe to correct at HTC are struggling to preserve market share of global smartphone market. The latest financial report shows that HTC is likely to decline 8% of total revenue in the fourth quarter of this year. Taiwanese carriers are losing customers in the hands of rivals such as Apple and Samsung.
Viewed as a "patent troll" typical of today's technology market, IPCom - a German company - a "professional" is only so much to acquire patents and then sue other companies to earn compensation.
Before HTC, IPCom been a nightmare for many years at Nokia in the European region. IPCom patents that HTC had used against the property of Bosch Group, which is related to wireless technology.
