Nintendo sold 4.5 million 3DS in its first year

Despite a difficult start but Nintendo 3DS finally overcome and achieve higher sales than its predecessor the DS.
 

 
Yesterday (7/3), Nintendo revealed that the company has sold 4.5 million portable game machine Nintendo 3DS in the U.S. since its launch in late March last year. On the software side, more than 9 million games were sold, helping to improve the company's total revenue to 1.2 billion.
 
Along this line, Nintendo also said the company has sold 2.3 million Nintendo DS in the first year (between 2004 and 2005). Add to that the software sold 5 million and generate sales reached $ 540 million.
3DS is trying to do better than its DS predecessors. The equipment in the Nintendo DS family has become very popular, with more than 151 million units sold in late 2011. Last year, Nintendo said the company sold 710,000 units worldwide 3DS at 30/6, of which only 110,000 machines in the U.S.. To stimulate demand, Nintendo was quick to lower their prices from $ 249.99 3DS down to $ 169.99. Soon after the move, the company announced that sales have increased 260%.
