On 09.02.2011 the past, Samsung has announced a new optical drive Smart Media Hub SE-208BW.
SE-208BW is an optical drive is equipped with Wi-Fi connection. The user can wirelessly transmit content from CD and DVD to smartphone, tablet PCs and their personal computers.
To access the drive by SE-208BW or iPad iPhone, the Samsung representative said the company will provide applications for each device. Samsung also said that the drive SE-208BW also displayed on the screen a Mac as a external storage device.
SE-208BW is also capable of burning, so you can burn from an iPhone, iPad, or Mac. The drive supports write speeds of 24X CD-ROM, 24X CD-RW, 8X DVD read and write DVD ± R 8X, DVD-RAM 5X, 6X DVD + R Dual Layer, 6X DVD-R Dual Layer, DVD + RW 8X and 6X DVD-RW.
The drive is also equipped with Ethernet network connection, you can connect the SE-208BW to the broadband modem and use the drive as a wireless access point. Samsung said the SE-208BW can also be used as a device Wi-Fi repeater. SE-208BW has a USB port to connect an external hard drive and supports Dynamic DNS services, so you can use this hard drive as a file server.
