Google Earth has reached 1 billion downloads

Nearly one in seven of the world's population have already downloaded Google Earth application, a new application just turned 6.
Free software for viewing images taken from satellites from all over the Earth has been downloaded one billion times, according to a statement by Google on Monday 4.
This technology was originally developed by Keyhole, a company that Google acquired in 2001. Once in operation for 5 years, Google Earth has been known by its ability to integrate many tools and applications. Most recently, Google Earth can also be used for promotional purposes.
