Canon this month will be celebrating 25 years on the first launch of the EOS camera system symbolic of its largest. Since being introduced in March / 1987, the EOS model line has grown to become the world's most popular segment in digital camera-lens reflex (DSLR). Canon EOS system was initially launched with three models EOS 650 SLR and lens changes the buckling tube EF including EF 35-70 mm f/3.5-4.5.

EOS stands for Electro Optical System and the phrase is also the name of the goddess of dawn in Greek mythology. The EOS line first in the world entirely using electronic restraint systems and heralded a new generation of SLR cameras have autofocus AF.

Canon EOS DSLR Model 650 marked a milestone in the development of the Canon.

In this era of film EOS SLR cameras, the Canon camera models attract users as well as being hailed by the advanced technology, designed with high aesthetic importance and priorities of the Canon as the speed high and easy to use. During this time, Canon is also spearheading the EOS-1 series offers the first professional in 1989. In 1993, the company continues to expand with the series is more compact EOS 500 (also known as the EOS Rebel XS or EOS Kiss in a number of different markets around the world).

After launch the EOS D30 in 2000 and also the time DSLR began more attention, Canon continues to develop more advanced technologies such as proprietary CMOS sensor and image processing chip performance Digic high. Most recently, Canon has launched two models X and 5D 1D Mark III with advanced technical features for professional users.

The buckling EF lens changes were introduced with the EOS SLR cameras are leading this industry worldwide. With the system, Canon's optical technology as the core, EF lens also incorporates new technologies such as hypersonic focus Ultrasonic Motor (USM), optical image stabilizer Image Stabilizer (IS), class maximize the light coming from Sub-Wavelength Structure Coating (SWC), anti-technology and multi-layer anti-reflective optical diffraction diffractive optical (DO). Particularly EF line now has a total of about 60 different versions.

Officially launched Canon EOS 5D Mark III 22.3 Megapixel sensor

More than three years after the release of the EOS 5D Mark II, Canon has announced a new version of the 5D full-frame camera called 5D Mark III is equipped with many improved features over its predecessor.
The biggest change that Canon brings to the Mark III is equipped with 22.3 megapixel CMOS image sensor with Digic image processor V +. As a result, the machine offers an ISO range from 50 to 102,400 (compared to the original 100-25600), while able to achieve continuous shooting speed up to 6 frames / sec video recording capability with high definition. Specifically, it provides Full HD 1080p video (24/25/30 frames / sec) or 720p (50/60 frames / second) with stereo sound quality.
Some other improvements of the EOS 5D Mark III is the ability to autofocus on high-density 61 points and 63-zone metering system, optical viewfinder capable of covering 100% of the LCD 3 , 2 inches to provide 1.04 million pixels, the headphone jack to monitor audio levels during filming.

Canon coming out the Super G competition mirrorless

Canon can not participate mirrorless cameras but instead improve the "framework" for the product compact G series before.
Canon Super G will be the future of the current G series.
Sources from Photorumors said Canon is preparing to launch a high-end compact cameras completely new. However, although this product line remains a name bearing the letter "G" as the model G11, G12 in the past but will have the full name is Super G or G. Power
New product line confirm will be released in CES 2012 held in January or CP + took place in February.
New Model of the Super G is said to be equipped with CMOS sensor size 12-megapixel resolution, aperture f/2.0, Full HD video recording capability, screen size 3 inch rear and prices in about 600 USD.
Super G is not mirrorless camera lens but rather a major player for this product line in the future. Like the X100 or X10 , good image quality and can leave small pockets will cause users to think about when selecting the sample as NEX of Sony, Nikon and Panasonic GF a compact but still inconvenient by the size of the lens attached.

Canon PowerShot SX40 super zoom HS

Property 35x optical zoom, 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor with DIGIC five new processors, providing good image quality, video is faster than what is available in the Canon PowerShot SX40 HS.

Super zoom lens

35x zoom lens of the SX40 offers wide range from 24 mm to 840 mm, allowing users to capture objects at ranges far without having to move closer.
Unlike some major competitors, such as P500 or Fuji HS20 Nikon, Canon SX40 features bring optical image stabilization (IS), which, when shooting distant subjects, vibration reduction go a significant way.

Back-lit image sensor

Back-lit feature called back side illuminated (BSI) to increase the ability to process light, support video at high speeds, reduce vibration and the image becomes cleaner.
Unlike his predecessor SX30 with 14 megapixel sensor, Canon SX 40 only brings 12.1 megapixel sensor, similar to the opponents of the Panasonic FZ48 or FZ150. This is not an improvement "backward" instead remained Canon sensor sizes to increase the pixel size, so that the image quality improved dramatically. Combined with the BSI sensors, the user receives the image resolution is ideal for a compact camera.
Comes with a new sensor DIGIC processor 5 which Canon claims it can provide stunning image quality with significantly reduced vibration. Experimental comparison with his predecessor, SX30, SX40 images taken from a brighter, increasing the ability to distinguish between the brightness of the image noise and vibration when at maximum zoom is considered quite good.
When taking the test light environment, do not expect a quality image obtained as in a DSLR, but if compared with the competition, offering the ISO sensitivity is much better.

Click for help

With a larger buffer, SX40 offers shutter speeds up to 10.3 fps, 1.3 fps faster than its predecessor SX30. But if a comprehensive review, to balance between modes and aperture of the lens, set the shooting at 8 fps quality can be seen as consistent as possible with the SX40. On this point, can Panasonic Lumix FZ150 include the ability to continually focus dots a lot better.
These options focus on the SX40 is quite limited compared to other super zoom. Do equipped with single point of focus without the user can choose to focus in many areas when shooting. Although the user can move the focus point, but it will be a significant drawback when it comes to choosing the location, tracking objects and proceed to detector face your subject.

The display

One important point that is missing SX40 changes in some important points. Basically, the layout and physical dimensions of the camera is considered reasonable, but the LCD display is small with low resolution (2.7 inch, 230K pixel) and the electronic viewfinder ( EVF) is only 0.2 inch wide make users feel uncomfortable.
In fact, most super-zoom viewfinder is not to be impressed, although they are complementary features image stabilization, display well under low-light environments, but low resolution of the SX40 is worth processing, especially if compared with the 3 inch screen, 460K pixel at a Lumix or 921K pixel products in Sony HX100V.

Full HD video recording capability

SX40 enables users to video quality Full HD 1080p at 24 fps rate, equivalent to the standard picture, or 720p at 30 fps. There is also a super fast speed mode up to 120 fps and 240 fps in lower resolutions, but considering the fact that this resolution is quite low and not useful for taking pictures.

Evaluation of the craft

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS does not have significantly improved over its predecessor SX30, notably the crisis 35x ultra zoom. The picture quality and video at the fair, wide-range 35x optical zoom than the competition.
Pros
  • Supports up to 35x optical zoom.
  • Anti-shake when zoom is quite good.
  • Larger pixel size for image quality quite.
Cons
  • The screen and electronic viewfinder small, low resolution.
  • Do not bring much improvement over the SX30 predecessor.
  • Full HD video recording speed is not high.
Rating: 7 / 10
