Coming common platform for applications on Smart TV

LG, Philips and Sharp have agreed to work together to identify the common technical requirements for their smart TV, based on open standards like HTML5, CE-HTML and HbbTV.

The initiative aims to simplify application development and provides industry intelligence television. Currently, application developers spend more time and effort to test their applications on different platforms. LG, Philips and Sharp will offer the intelligent TV manufacturers and application developers to contribute ideas and initiatives to simplify the development process while improving the user experience. Expected, the beta of the SDK will be released in early October.
