This new technology allows a single manufacturer Hitachi hard drives are thinner in size, is beginning to be used in the hard drive Hitachi Deskstar, Travelstar and CinemaStar with capacities ranging from 250GB to 1TB.

Using high-capacity disks, Hitachi said it had produced the hard drive with 3.5-inch size, only 7mm thick 'z-height "targeted for desktop computers, set-top box for TV, to ultra-lightweight laptops.
For markets ultra-thin and light notebook, the hard line of Hitachi Travelstar Z5K500 will provide up to 636 Gb / square inch on a disk rotational speed 5200 rpm (revolutions / minute).
The line drive Deskstar 5K1000.B 7K1000.D 7200 rpm and 5200 rpm Hitachi's new, with SATA 6 Gb / s and 32MB cache buffer, the model is designed for commercial desktop, the sequence set external storage systems and computer gaming.
